Eastern Europe Trip

Vision

Join us this June as we serve alongside long-term workers in Eastern Europe! This short-term trip will be strategically focused on prayer, demonstrating the gospel through service, and personal evangelism. On this trip, you can expect to engage with locals, learn about their culture, serve them, offer to pray with them, and seek to share the gospel with them!

The long-term team engages in making disciples amongst the Muslim population in their country through local churches as well as their own NGO/nonprofit. They run English camps and classes, and seek to equip the church with simple, effective tools for evangelism and sharing the gospel. Additionally, through prayer walking in their day to day lives, they seek to use the same tools to find People of Peace (or POPs) and start Discovery Bible Studies or discovery groups.

Note from the Team there:

"This country is one of the most beautiful, unique, and complicated places on the planet, and our team is so grateful to call it home."

What's Expected

As team members are learning from and engaging with others, team members should have a heart posture of humility and remember that culture does not make people, people make the culture.
Other expectations include:

  • In light of our value to hear and obey the Holy Spirit, we expect all team members to spend individual time in the Word and prayer outside of group prayer meetings. This may sound far too obvious, but this can be a hard discipline to carry out, especially when on a village trip. We can’t emphasize enough the need to daily abide in the Lord!
  • Come ready and eager to learn, as life and ministry here are most likely different from what you’re accustomed to.
  • Be aware of your personal needs to maintain spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically health. If you need something, ask.
Typical Day

The typical day will include some outreach opportunities, specifically English camp for kids in the community as well as prayer walking through an area of the city. There will be a daily debrief and time to talk about what they saw, learned, or did. The team will have the opportunity to attend the small local church the ministry partner is connected to and get to join in their regular prayer meetings. There are also potentially helping out with practical needs of the team or churches.

Most of the young people and professionals in the city will speak some amount of English.

Trainings

We desire you to pursue Jesus in your daily life and grow to be more like Him. We will provide trainings that walk through abiding and resting in Jesus (John 15), ministry overview and expectations, culture, and logistics. While we can’t perfectly prepare you for everything you might encounter, we do our best to train you with everything you’d need for your trip.

Logistics
  • Teams will do a lot of walking and periodically will take taxis as a group.
  • The team will stay in a hotel near public transportation where someone from the long term team will meet them every day to go to the ministry site.
  • Rooms will be same gendered.

England Trip

Vision

Join us this summer as we serve alongside long-term workers in England! This short-term trip will be strategically focused on prayer, demonstrating the gospel through service, and personal evangelism. On this trip, you can expect to engage with locals, learn about their culture, serve them, offer to pray with them, and seek to share the gospel with them!

You’ll help the long-term team there share the gospel and seek out people who are interested in learning more about Jesus. The team lives in a densely populated predominantly Muslim area of their city which allows for building relationships and sharing the good news of the Gospel in a small radius of the city. Those people will be followed up with those who are a part of the team’s house church.

Receiving a short-term trip allows for the long-term team to focus on those who are showing interest in Jesus while the short-term team goes out and builds relationships with new people.

What's Expected

As team members are learning from and engaging with others, team members should have a heart posture of humility and remember that culture does not make people, people make the culture.

Typical Day Includes
  • The team will generally pray in the morning, do late morning outreach, lunch, afternoon outreach, and have debrief in the evening.
  • The long-term workers will conduct orientation on the work they do and how the team will partner best with them.
  • Personal/ small team prayer and devotion.
  • Meet together with the long-term team — This is a time for debriefing experiences, prayer, reading the Word, etc. It’s also a chance for teams to be exposed to the life and experiences of the long-term workers to catch a glimpse of what life overseas would look like.
  • Eat meals with members of the long-term team, their ministry partners, and/or people who are interested in hearing about Jesus.
  • Prayer walk through communities asking God to open the hearts of those they see to the gospel, including sending dreams and visions.
Additional Opportunity

The local established churches that the long-term workers are connected with lack many resources and work hard with limited members. So there are opportunities to help with a number of church revitalisation projects they have going on in partnership with a number of local churches.

Logistics
  • Team members will walk a lot as well as take public transportation (metro or taxi) to get around the city.
  • The team will stay in an airbnb or hotel near where the ministry partner lives.
  • Rooms will be same gendered.
  • The team will be with one of the long-term team members from 9-5PM roughly and all other time will be self managed.
