England (Downtown ASDP)
Join us this summer as we serve alongside long-term workers in England! This short-term trip will be strategically focused on prayer, demonstrating the gospel through service, and personal evangelism. On this trip, you can expect to engage with locals, learn about their culture, serve them, offer to pray with them, and seek to share the gospel with them!
You’ll help the long-term team there share the gospel and seek out people who are interested in learning more about Jesus. The team lives in a densely populated predominantly Muslim area of their city which allows for building relationships and sharing the good news of the Gospel in a small radius of the city. Those people will be followed up with those who are a part of the team’s house church.
Receiving a short-term trip allows for the long-term team to focus on those who are showing interest in Jesus while the short-term team goes out and builds relationships with new people.
What's ExpectedAs team members are learning from and engaging with others, team members should have a heart posture of humility and remember that culture does not make people, people make the culture.
Typical Day Includes- The team will generally pray in the morning, do late morning outreach, lunch, afternoon outreach, and have debrief in the evening.
- The long-term workers will conduct orientation on the work they do and how the team will partner best with them.
- Personal/ small team prayer and devotion.
- Meet together with the long-term team — This is a time for debriefing experiences, prayer, reading the Word, etc. It’s also a chance for teams to be exposed to the life and experiences of the long-term workers to catch a glimpse of what life overseas would look like.
- Eat meals with members of the long-term team, their ministry partners, and/or people who are interested in hearing about Jesus.
- Prayer walk through communities asking God to open the hearts of those they see to the gospel, including sending dreams and visions.
The local established churches that the long-term workers are connected with lack many resources and work hard with limited members. So there are opportunities to help with a number of church revitalisation projects they have going on in partnership with a number of local churches.
TrainingsWe desire you to pursue Jesus in your daily life and grow to be more like Him. We will provide trainings that walk through abiding and resting in Jesus (John 15), ministry overview and expectations, culture, and logistics. While we can’t perfectly prepare you for everything you might encounter, we do our best to train you with everything you’d need for your trip.
Logistics- Team members will walk a lot as well as take public transportation (metro or taxi) to get around the city.
- The team will stay in an airbnb or hotel near where the ministry partner lives.
- Rooms will be same gendered.
- The team will be with one of the long-term team members from 9-5PM roughly and all other time will be self managed.
Being a short-term mission trip leader is a rewarding experience. It makes you a part of the Great Commission, letting you respond to God’s call to the nations in a sacrificial way while also shepherding a group of people. Check out the benefits and expectations here. If you are interested in being a trip leader, you apply through the application and complete the "Trip Leader" question section.
BudgetEverything you need for your trip is included in the trip cost, which can be viewed here. These amounts are based on preparation costs and costs given to us by the field partner.

Abiding Training Required
We go on short-term trips because we want to see God’s kingdom furthered. While most short-term trip participants are blessed by the experience, we do not primarily go to be filled up, but to pour out to others. Scripture consistently paints a correlation between spiritual health and our ability to be effective in ministry to the world, so we believe consistently seeking to abide in Christ is crucial to effectiveness for short-term trips.

Support Raising Training (optional) Required
In this training, we will train you on why we engage in support raising, how to raise support, and how to support each other throughout the support-raising process. We encourage you even if you have the financial means to pay for this trip to enter into support raising as it brings opportunity for those who aren’t going to be a part of what God is doing as well as getting to see God’s provision and faithfulness.
