Southeast Asia (Downtown)

Vision

Join us this summer as we serve alongside long-term workers in Southeast Asia! This short-term trip will be strategically focused on evangelism, practicing Disciple-Making Movement principles, and will grow you in your ability to live and communicate cross-culturally. On this trip, you can expect to engage with locals, learn about their culture, serve them, offer to pray with them, and seek to share the gospel with them! You will get to experience a frontier mission field where you can interact directly with unreached people groups. Receiving a short-term trip allows for the long-term team to focus on those who are showing interest in Jesus while the short-term team goes out and builds relationships with new people. 

The remoteness of the villages they serve makes it difficult to gain access to our target people groups. However, the cultural tourism model allows them to enter into these remote villages, stay in their homes, and live life-on-life with them. These short term teams are able to love on their host families by sharing testimonies, praying for sick family members, and exchanging gifts.

What's Expected

As team members are learning from and engaging with others, they should have a heart posture of humility and remember that culture does not make people, people make the culture.

During your stay you will take a 2-3 night village stay as a complete cultural immersion experience so that the long term team may gain access to the people they are trying to reach. Your teams play a vital role in helping them identify persons of peace.

Potential Schedule 

• Day 1: Travel to the location and begin orientation
• Day 2: Orientation
• Day 3: Village trip briefing, questions, & prayer
• Day 4-6: Village trip
• Day 7: Village trip debrief, rest
• Day 8: Village trip (day trip)
• Day 9: Activity day
• Day 10: Travel back to the US
